On 7 March 2024 we will be hosting an online event with Professor Simon Werrett (UCL), Dr Leonie Hannan (Queen’s University Belfast) and Dr Lucy Havard (Cambridge) and asking the question: how was knowledge made at home?

Drawing on Werrett’s Thrifty Science: Making the Most of Materials in the History of Experiment and Hannan’s A Culture of Curiosity: Science in the Eighteenth-Century Home, we will be unpack some of the commonalities and divergences in these recent studies of early modern science and household.
